Foreigners who want to transit through Vietnam by international border gates for travel and sightseeing, as well as stay in Vietnam for no more than 15 days.

Requirements for foreigners and travel agencies

Foreigners who transit through Vietnam for travel and sightseeing must have an agreement with international travel agencies first. This is to make sure that visitors can have a full grasp of their itinerary.

International visitors to Vietnam 

International travel agencies who organize a sightseeing tour for foreigners in Vietnam must have documents proving that their business has full legal status in the international travel field at the Immigration Department, adhering strictly to the law.

Procedures for getting a sightseeing permit in Vietnam

International travel agencies need to submit these following documents:

• Application for a sightseeing permit according to form N27
• Detailed itinerary in Vietnam for tourists 

Where to apply

The application must be submitted to the Immigration Department within a working day from the time the Immigration Department receives the written request.

Official dispatch that response to business must use form N28. Otherwise, reasons for decline must be clearly stated. 

For cases that can be resolved, the Immigration Department at border gates will issue a permit according to form N29.

Term of sightseeing permit

A sightseeing permit in Vietnam will be limited to a maximum of 15 days, which is suitable for the transit time and sightseeing program.
